New WWII book on Buckingham AAF

Hi all,

Just joined this forum in my continuing quest to find new information and photos related to the Buckingham Army Air Field in Florida - as well as other Florida bases from World War II.

I just completed a pictorial history book about Buckingham AAF that will be published by Arcadia Publishing in December 2010. We found hundreds of great images, interviewed many veterans and had a great time putting the book together.

I am always on the look out for more material.

If you know of anyone who may have an interest in this admittedly niche topic, it would be great if you would let them know about the book.

Meanwhile, I have created a Facebook page where I am posting photos and historical info from the book as well as unpublished photos and other updates on the project. It would be great if anyone on Facebook would "LIKE" the page and help us spread the word. I'll post a link below:

World's 'oldest beer' found in shipwreck

First there was the discovery of dozens of bottles of 200-year-old champagne, but now salvage divers have recovered what they believe to be the world's oldest beer, taking advertisers' notion of 'drinkability' to another level.

Though the effort to lift the reserve of champagne had just ended, researchers uncovered a small collection of bottled beer on Wednesday from the same shipwreck south of the autonomous Åland Islands in the Baltic Sea.

"At the moment, we believe that these are by far the world's oldest bottles of beer," Rainer Juslin, permanent secretary of the island's ministry of education, science and culture, told CNN on Friday via telephone from Mariehamn, the capital of the Åland Islands...

A video titled "Courage and Passion" to remember the crews who flew the "Lancs" during WWII.

Estimates of 55,000 to 60,000 crew never saw the end of WWII. This staggering figure represents the combined efforts from British, Commonwealth and Dominion aircrews.

1/48 scale, 9 para's plus chutes and trhee crew,i will never paint them ,i only do 1/32,1/35....so if anybody want them?
