The Kar.98K rifle cartridge pouch was divided into three separate pouches, then sub-divided again into two sections. Each of these sections contained a five-round stripper clip of 7.92mm ammo. Each pouch contained a total of thirty rounds of ammunition and each solider in the field usually carried two pouches each.
Made from black leather, each pouch had a leather loop on the back to allow them to be slipped securely onto a service belt.
