Introducing Me - WWII amateur
I stumbled across this zone from a Yahoo group (which I haven't visited in months because there was no intelligent conversation). I've been a WWII buff since reading Walter Lord's MIDWAY - The Incredible Victory when I was 10. I'm Currently reading Charles Whiting's Decision at St. Vith. I think my favorite WWII book (for now) is one called Visions from a Foxhole. Look it up on Amazon - great first-person story and really great illustrations from the battlefield. I'm really most interested in the forgotten bits of the war - Hurtgen, Burma and men like Gen. Truscott or Gen. Gavin who really carried the tactical burden. I look forward to many interesting discussions.
