Long couple of chapters ....eventually Hitler captured by Russians and held in a Large Birdcage by Stalin poked by sharp sticks every night when Stalin got drunk or annoyed.
Sounds a crap story but I enjoyed the book...could not put it down....Mrs Peter Eire loaned the book out ...never saw it again hence cant remember
the exact title...something to do with a German Cat/animal /bird

Hi Peter, the book you are thinking about it called The Berkut by Joseph Heywood, (1987) and you're right, it was an excellent read! Whilst I realize the actual idea of the Führer escaping Berlin at the last minute is not on, once you get over that, the rest of the story is exceedingly readable. Very recommended!
