There was a bloke who did a 'talk' at our club about diorama composition. Sadly, this dude lived up to the stereotypical modeller in that he was socially awkward and terrified of public speaking. Before his presentation degenerated into a whine about his bad marriage he pointed out a pretty interesting pair of observations. The first was that people usually use a prime number of trees if they have trees at all...3,5 or 7. The other thing was that long features such as the subject, fences, roads or railway tracks should never be parallel to the edges of the base. Fair enough I think.
I agree, first of all trees are a pain in the arse if you make em right, I always felt that one was enough if done properly and he is right about the angle, my wall will be on a slight angle , parallel is not good, looks contrived I think.
