Panzer Tunics

Given the large community of scale modelers in the Zone, and the large number of those interested in German armor and figures, I decided to open a thread just for Panzer uniforms and caps.

Here's the first installment:

This is the first pattern Panzer field jacket as worn by a Gefeiter assigned to Panzer-Regiment 3. The shoulder straps have been sewn down to avoid snagging and the original metal numeral 3 picked out of each strap for the same reason.

There is a lack of lapel button holes and the metal hook and eye arrangement is intended for closing the jacket up.

The piping is in artificial silk.

The second pattern Panzer field jacket is one as worn by a Obergefreiter in the 4th Panzer-Regiment 11. Most obvious change is the wider lapels and absence of the hook and eye combination.

On this version the numeral 11 is chain stitched on the shoulder tabs, and all piping is in dyed wool.

The third variation of the Panzer field jacket is that of a Hauptfeldwebel. Both the button and eye/hook feature are missing and the collar lapels are a bit wider.

The piping remains wool.
