A field jacket of the Sturmartillerie as worn by a Kanonier in the Sturaritterie Brigade 229. The national eagle is the 1944 pattern. Also on interest here is the use of the bright red soutache (denotes artillery) and the Einheitslitzen on the collar, common in late war field jackets.


Above is the first pattern Panzer field jacket in a reed green herringbone twill material. This example was worn by a crewman in the Sturmartillerie or Panzerartillerie. Although this design was slated to be replaced in 1942, this jacket dates to 1945 with a 1944 national eagle.

Note the single row of black plastic buttons on the right side,
