My two and a half year old son is really into Van Halen (not with Sammy Hagar), Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac and even Hendrix and Zeppelin.
IMO, there's actually not much 'good' new music that gets really popular. I'm probably showing my age it's true. The usual 'pop' types are just rubbish and I see many 'rock stars' that pay more attention to being 'rock stars' than to being musicians. It's funny how all those 'music' types have a similar look. It's kinda like a uniform. Maaan.
It's all subjective though. I really like some of the 'crap' too.
