Re: New Music for Old Ears

I dunno guys...Britney's 'Oops I Did It Again' and anything by Shakira should last. It's definitely up there.
But seriously, gone are the days when even 'pop' music was good quality. The Beatles early stuff ('I Wanna Hold Your Hand', 'Please Please Me' etc.) had craftsmanship and IMO 'Dancing Queen' by Abba is a work of genius. But in those days, the music industry was more music and less industry. It's not about art anymore, it's all $$$$$$$. Seen any ugly musicians lately? (Amy Winehouse I'll grant you but she's got something good going on ie. some real ability). I'm so with gi-rene on this one.
What about 'Nevermind' by Nirvana? A hyped up load of crap or a ground-breaking album? I can't decide but I still like it.
