Exclamation New Sub Forum -The Game Den

Well, many of you have probably suspected that I was up to something, especially over these last few weeks! That something is a new Sub-Forum to the Gaming Forum, titled:

"The Game Den"

I've been talking with quite a few of you, and put up a Poll, to see what the actual interest is in Interactive Gaming here at World War II Zone. The respose was pretty clear...you want to play games! And I couldn't be happier!!! Jim O. was gracious enough to provide us our very own play zone here at the Zone, and it's a place where we can go to play Online Interactive Games.

I have moved the one game currently underway, our very own Magna's "Miniatures - You Play - I Do The Work" game. This game has been a blast for all concerned. If you haven't checked it out, take a peek! For those of you wondering what this sub-forum is all about, or are contemplating starting a game, this is an excellent example of what is meant for this arena. There are also some very interesting ideas floating about the Gaming Forum for RPG's and other games. This is very exciting!

Some ground rules to keep things from spinning out of control, though:
  • The games to be set up in The Game Den are to be predominantly WWII in nature, but we can touch on other eras, or even the "What If" type games. But overall, the bulk must stay in WWII.
  • If you want to kick around an idea/ideas for a game(s) you're thinking of setting up as Game Master of said, do it in the regular Gaming Forum until you're ready to start recruiting players and starting the actual game. This means, development of a game is certainly encouraged among our ranks, but keep it in the regular Gaming Forum area until you're ready to "Go Live" at The Game Den.
  • If you're going to have , say an RPG, that is so enormous that it requires playing off site; or a game that requires a game system that needs to be carried out at another site, that's not the "game development" I refer to above...you can certainly post a thread in The Game Den where progress can be tracked and the game discussed; as long as the general community can follow along and understand what's happening. This area shouldn't be trated as an advanced PM function! And make sure there's an active link to the other site, so that others can go over to see the game in progress. I feel comfortable to offer this latitude, and see how it works out.
  • I'd love to see a little bit of everything in The Game Den...ground war, air, naval; miniatures gaming; board gaming; long games; short games; hard games; simple games. Let's offer games that appeal to everyone's different schedules and tastes.
  • Lets play nice! There must be a 0-tolerance on the opposite. We're all here to have fun, so lets not turn this into a real war! Light trash-talking is understandable, as long as it's fun in nature. I'll be watching!!!!!

OK, OK, enough preaching. I have high hopes for this new sub-forum, and I hope we get a lot of games rolling in there! Let's all get involved as players and/or Game Masters, and have fun. That's what it's all about!
