Re: Dr. Shige's Afrikakorps MkIV Ausf.E
This kit is a gem mate. It even comes with a figure of Heinz Guderian and a vinyl cactus...yep, that's right. Just what we all needed eh? There are three DAK marking options and three Eastern Front. Two hull tubs, one with and one without extra armour. Two entire sets of tools, one set has clamps moulded on, the other doesn't in case you want to use the PE clamps which are provided. Two sets of fenders, one set has holes for the moulded on tool clamps, the other is flat for use with PE clamps. There's always the choice between simple 'tamiya-esque' building or more complicated PE use. I've gone for a mix on mine. Where I have tools missing, I have the PE clamps in place. They seem a little big for the scale but they still impart a level of busyness and detail that I like. The great thing about Dragon '3-in-1' kits is that in the box one gets a model and a spares box all in one hit. Very good value for money I think. Instructions aren't great though. Dragon even provide a jig to assemble the top run of tracks with the correct sag and the completed model has workable suspension.
