Here I thought that instead of the finished diorama I would post pictures of the whole work from idea to complete diorama.
Durin' the Winterwar '39-'40 there was situations where whole Russian regiments became surounded by far smaller number of Finish skitroopers that used speed n' local knowledge as well as the harsh enviroment in their struggle aginst the Russian who outnumbered the Finish.
Strength at the beginning:
Finland:
250,000 men
30 tanks
130 aircraft
Russia:
1,000,000 men
6,541 tanks
3,800 aircraft
Casualties and losses:
Finland:
26,662 dead
39,886 wounded
1,000 captured
Russia:
126,875 dead or missing
264,908 wounded
5,600 captured
2,268+ tanks
Here Jonas have choosen to build the aftermath of one of the many Motti's (Encirclements). His choice fell on Lemetti where around 3000 Russians where killed n' his idea is showing a lone patrolin' Finish skitrooper comin' upon the battlefield a few days after it's done.
