I use an old drafting desk that belonged to an old girlfriend. It's too high for my son but I've taught him excellent 'Dad's Study' protocol. He's allowed in there as long as he obeys the very few (but strict) rules. He never lets me down because (thank God) he seems to be showing some interest in my 'panes' (planes). He most enjoys placing blobs of old oil paint onto lumps of blu-tack...it's his hobby if you will.
MAGNA, I've been thinking that nothing beats a custom built desk. It's what I will eventually do. My desk is about a metre square and I only build there. It's always cluttered. I have another table set up for painting. I never have to pack up because the room is mine...I just shut the door.
