Re: 'The Forgotten Soldier' by Guy Sajer
I read the book several years ago. It all seemed slightly "Flowery and airy fairy" to me. As a novel, nice, but as a an accurate portrayal of events and his personnal experiences, I have problems with. To me it's a little like Sven Hassel and his 27th Penal battalion (Which I understand never existed) and his novels, great read and enjoyed them tremendously when I read them, unfortunately largely a figment of his imagination, I wait however to be shot down in flames (Got my tin Hat on in anticipation)
