So do I. Yet it's little known among 'lay-readers' (people who don't normally read books with a military theme). As I mentioned above, I've heard 'All Quiet' discredited too. My mother (of all people) had a 'hit-list' of five books that were compulsory reading for all 'well-rounded people'. Among them was 'All Quiet'. The others were 'Animal Farm' and '1984' by Orwell, 'Brave New World' by Huxley and 'One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovitch' by Solzhenitsyn. (Big surprise, my Mum was a bit of a lefty ;(). I've read 'em all and I'm glad I have.
