Good lord rigging is A LOT of work mates! But I have high hopes for the end product!!! This Gotha has near
60 lines to rig! I have 7 left to anchor in the wings,8 on the fuselage?, and probably 8 on the wheels. That just anchoring them. All these lines then need to be "run" and attached in place.
The top wings are starting to look like spaghetti with all those wires (fishing "tippit" line, actually!)!!! The interesting part on that is going to be:
- First, when I attach the top wing to the bottom struts. The trick there will be positioning all the struts through the maze of curled rig lines...that ought to be fun, no?
- Second, when I run the lines, in which I will have to "dissect" what line is what, and then thread them through the holes in the bottom wings. I'll anchor them with hemostats (I have 3) under the wing, and drop glue down the hole to seal the rigging in. This will take a LONG time, as I'll want these to sit anchored until I am positive they are cured, three at a time, before moving onto the next three. This is where the build for me is going to bog down to a snails pace.
This will all be worth it I believe, but it is a challenge! I'll post pics soon.
