The last hour is the best part of the film which depicts the Liberation. The most moving scene concerns "Georges" a tank commander who talks with his wife over the phone and tells her he's coming home after 4 years, only to die in a duel with a German AT gun in front of his home. This isn't some sentimental fluff made up by some screenwriter but actually happened-terribly sad. On the down side, the "Panthers" would be more beliveable if they used someting bigger than an M24 Chaffee for the mock up-they're just too small. Not the best WW2 film, but certainly not the worst-good viewing for a rainy day.
you have sumed up the film very good . my self i probley would give it
a nother half star . 7/10 all around
best krieg
