About Nuernberg and Oberst General Alfred Jodl, I remember reading he was aquitted by a West German court in the 1950s, but too late, he was already dead by then. The main objection by many Germans to the Nuernberg trials was that the Soviets, who were just as brutal and commited war crimes, were part of the ones in charge of the war crimes tribunal. Needless to say, what happened with Grossadmiral Doenitz, 10 years in prison, despite the fact that he was proven innocent on many counts and was supported by many US Admirals, including Nimitz.... typical victor's justics, even though of course, some unsavoury characters like Hans Frank and Kaltenbrunner deserved it. Oh Well.
