Introduction
My interest in WWII began as a kid watching movies like "Kelly's Heroes" (still a favorite !) and TV shows like "The Rat Patrol" (not so much). Of late, I've had a more serious interest in the subject, particularly Ostfront and fighter aces (all nations, all theaters). And I've always had an attraction to the "all-but-forgotten" sidelights of history.
My grandfather's brother was with the US 3rd Army, and my mother's people are distant relations of Fritz Lindemann (1894-1944), one of The July Plot conspirators.
Other interests include Royal Navy frigate captains of the Napoleonic era, 19th Century African explorers, The American Civil War, Western gunfighters, and WWI flying aces. I also enjoy thoroughbred horse racing, conspiracy theories, cryptozoology, and politics.
Don't know if I'll be able to contribute much of any value, but I do look forward to reading the forums !
