I read an article recently in Airforce association magazine.

Not the issue in the link but the next one.
In it is stated that F/L Bill Bragg of RCAF took the surrender of the light cruiser Nurnberg in Wilhelmshaven. F/L Bragg having done 92 combat sorties was assigned to 4th Canadian Armed Brigade of the 4th Canadian Armored Division as FCO (forward controlling officer). According to the article early May 1945 (likely after May 4th) he with a Int Major went to Wilhelmshaven in a recon just after the surrender was announced. When F/L Bragg arrived Captain Helmuth Gressler of the Nurnberg offered to surrender the ship to him. The two Canadians were surrounded by the 700 man crew and received the Capitan's mauser as well the ship's Kreigmarine flag.. The Canadian army officials arrived later to formalize the surrender.
The flag is in the RCAF museum in Trenton Ontario (The Article has a picture of the Flag).
I have seen other stories for the Surrender of the Nurnberg (Wiki) anybody know which is true
