Hi
Just joined this site so this is my first post.
There seem to be quite a few people in the US who are trying to record veterans, and the Veterans History Project (if you haven't seen it -
Veterans History Project (Library of Congress)) is doing a really good job.
Sadly there isn't a similar nationwide project in the UK, although there are quite a few museums and groups who are interviewing veterans locally. I've been involved in interviewing for the
The Second World War Experience Centre and have recently started putting together a website which lists oral history collections which feature WWII recordings in the UK -
Recollections of WWII, which may be of interest to some members.
It is far from complete, so I'd be really pleased to hear from anyone who has been involved in interviewing veterans (and civilians who experienced the home front).
