Yeah...every now and then something will make you feel less disappointed. It gratified me too because there's still some stupid and rather pathetic anti-Japanese feeling in this country. It seems to me that events that occurred 60+ years ago should be let go. My feeling is that the funeral for the submariners is something our previous government wouldn't have provided. I also believe our own behaviour internationally and domestically lately doesn't give us any right to the 'moral high ground'. Typically, there are loud denials of the existence of aboriginal massacre sites in my own state. It's no surprise that indigenous Australians are largely gone from our southern states where the majority of the white population is...but I digress. I don't wish to open that can of worms here.
