Re: Tiger I-One Tough Cat
You guys are more than likely right about the location. I love the look of the tiger 1 with transport tracks on, they look so clean and business like. They dont look overly large or imposing. Now the tigr itself is a very clean example of a late version tiger 1 the chassis is definately a chassis produced after January 44, as the shovel has been removed from then front glacis plate and the tow shackle area has the side extensions cut away to take the larger tiger two tow shackles that were being used at the time. the rear idler is the larger 700mm type idler, so this is not a final production tiger . The turret could be a turret of either of the last three turret versions produced from between March 44 and May 44. the monocular gunsight mantlet was seen on the tiger after April 44 so this gives us a rough production date of the turret. Lastly, the tiger's number is A12 so this vehicle belongs to the Grossdeuschlan regiment after January 44. I have another veiw of this vehicle and they are actually reversing the vehicle to be in place for the fitment of the larger battle tracks. My scanner is not working so i can't scan and post it for you guys sorry
