No surprise that the Geirgian Army and navy took a beating so far, from others who served with them in Iraq, they were nit the best except their commando's, or so I've been told.
That being a "puppet" (as has been quoted in Russian reports) state for the US idea gets no play with me regardless, I do wonder though if there were some US advisers there in that mess. I did like the Bush speech of get out now and sign the cease fire proposal today for the Russians, we will see what happens.
Cheers, thanks again for the replies gentlemen.

Let this non-war end on a good note, if there is one as soon as possible for all sides involved.

Georgia did not start the actual combat. The combat was started by separatists who started attacks in Georgia proper. It is suspected that the attacks were encouraged and perhaps even ordered by Moscow. The Georgians went in to break up the bases of operations and possibly fell into a trap. The Russian response was too organized and rapid to show anything other than extensive preplanning and advanced predeployment. The attacks and push into Georgia proper further weakens the Russian "peacekeeping" excuse. Russian wants it's Sudetanland back and after that will come the rest of Czechoslavakia (Georgia). If Russia gets it's way, perhaps Ukraine will be next on their list kind of like their version of 1939 Poland. That is my opinion from what I have seen and read and nothing more.
