This is a reproduction of an American made Paratrooper Jumpwings (not mine). The Jumpwings were the mark of the US Paratrooper. Designed by Capt. William C. Yarborough, who also designed the jump suit and the rest of the paratrooper badges, in a contest in early 1941. He made at least a dozen different sketches before final picking this design, a parachute descending between outstretched wings. They were made by both British and American producers once Sobel opened the Chilton Foliat jump school. Most of the wings had a hatch clasp (like a safety pin) on the back but I was seen a few on line with clutch clasp (like a tie pin).
