Messerschmitt Bf 109

This is one of my all time fav planes of WW2, we have a 109G 10 at our
museum which is in excellent flying condition. I sat in the cockpit and
right away you feel tight in the shoulders. But i could see how this closeness
with the plane the pilot might feel as one with it, sort of speak.

Of corse you know who this is.

There's something with the G-6/AS n' the G-10 that apeals to me.

Bf109 G-2/trop ”Black 6”

Allthough once again restored to airworthy status after the crash in october 12 '97 it's been grounded.

One of the very few Bf109 G-6 that still flies.

Note the Erla haube that was introduced with G-10. It gives the pilot a better view 'round the plane. It was also installed on G-6/AS variants durin' '44 n' is sometimes called "Galland haube".

Bf109 G-10 ”Black 2”

My absolute favourit picture of an 109.

Bf109 G-10 ”Black 2” in pursuit of an P51D Mustang.

Two nice colour pictures from '42.

Bf109 E-4/trop, what's desert n' whats 109?

Bf109 E-7/trop somewhere over the mediterranian sea.

Erich Hartmann flies over his homebase after his 300th airkill in a G-6

Erich Hartmann, the worlds most successful ace with a total of 352 air victorys, all in different variants of the 109.

An less successful K-4 belongin' to Staffel III, Jagdgeswader 27

Bf109 K-6, the last variant that was to be used but on a very small scale. The Germans just managed to get the production run goin' but very few was made before the end of the war. One notable thing on the K-6 is that once again there was internaly wingmounted cannons, a thing that the Germans stopped doin' when the went from the Emil to Fredrich variants. But now it's 30mm Mk108 cannons instead of the 20mm on the Emil.

Thus the K-6 was by far the most heavly armed 109 variant with 3 Mk108 canons n' two 13mm MG131 guns.

An Bf109 K-6 after the war with USAAF markings.

The airframe of an Spitfire after ONE hit from a 30mm shell from a "liberated" Mk108 cannon that was testfired on the Spitfire by the British!

Turn up yer sound to max n' see this clip n' fall in love afterwards. The two most beautiful engines roamin' together in the air. First the high pitch whining of the DB605 engine in the G-6 shortly followed by the roamin' Merlin in the Mk. IX that flies Rote 2 to the Bf109 G-6 in this lovely clip.
