Re: Fighters On The Wing

I'm a fan of the P-40 and -51's they do their job well. But I just dislike American fighters for some reason, at least in IL-2. And if the flight model is realistic as they say. I dunno, some American fighters seem to stall easy and aren't as nimble as they should be.

P-51s are decent though and I've quickly become a fan of the -38.

But I love my Me-109. She's a kind and gentle fighter and nimble enough to get the job done!

And the 109 has guns to spare.

Not as much as 6 or even 8 50s... But I like tossing on some 20mm Gunpods for fun!

Re: Fighters On The Wing

The 50s in IL2 are pretty pissy I think. Try a late 109 with gunpods and a 30mm hub cannon. THAT sorts the planes from the scrap.

Interesting Spit picture. Looking at the radiators and exhaust stubs it is a Mk.2. Not sure about thoose bulges under each wing, an early cannon armed example?? Anybody have any clue?

No clue Wolster. I liked this photo as soon as I saw because you don't often see shots of the Spit from the underside.
