Re: Aircraft Interior Skill Test

This view is from the ame position as in the original shot but looking aft. at the far end is a . . . gasoline powered heater? Yep.

The heater is fed from a scoop in the right stab leading edge.

Note the cambered stab profile. Stabilizers are upside down wings (to hold the nose up) that typically produce downforce of up to 10% of the wings lift.

A right side view.

The paint under the wing fillets (black, green) is original (and VERY non-standard). The light and dark gray is a US Airforce concoction. The forward fuel bladder is in the right forground providing table space. This aircraft was basically fuel from the cockpit back to just behind the trailing edge of the wing. Note the ammo port to far left. They weapon tray fits under the fuselage below the fuel tanks.

Another right side view looking aft.

Re: Aircraft Interior Skill Test

That's the Smithsonian's example huh? The 'Schräge Musik' angled mount and the 'square' fuselage profile gave it away for me...
These pics are your personal pics aren't they? The ones on the Smith's website are tiny and sketchy...these are by far the best reference pictures of anything I've ever found anywhere. I'm grateful Randy. Much of the detail seen here will be visible on my future modelling project.
Peace.

Re: Aircraft Interior Skill Test

That was very educational from a build standpoint, and I like the "guess what it is" format...Kudos!!!
