The Return of Sgt. Rock!

Hey all,
Here's my newest online column regarding Sgt. Rock.

Newsarama.com : HELLION FOR HIRE: TOUR OF DUTY 9 - PAINTING ROCK

At the bottom of the article is my previous columns, including a dinner with MOH recipient George Sakato!

"Sgt. Rock - The Lost Battalion - Day One" will be released in comic shops on November 5th. It will be a six issue monthly series and I again, I appreciate everyone's assistance with the book. If you're interested you can find a comic shop near you (I believe the 442nd veterans association is ordering 500 copies!).

Let us get the word out and have this series serve as the bridge between our veterans and a naive generation thirsting for heroes and to know of the 36th, Division, the 141st and 442nd Infantry Regiments.

You can call the Comic Shop Locator Service -- toll free to find a store near you:

1-888-COMIC BOOK (1-888-266-4226)

Or go on line:

Comic Shop Locator Service - Find a Comic Shop Near You!

This is the order number (but you won't need it as you must go through a comic shop).

SEP080101 SGT ROCK THE LOST BATTALION #1 (OF 6) $2.99 US

Thanks guys!

Cool Billy. There's a comic store nearby hopefully they will carry this, otherwise I will find a way to order....

Re: The Return of Sgt. Rock -- Script and images of Normandy

Hey guys,
Here's my latest column for my upcoming Sgt. Rock -- hope you enjoy -- it's a week old, but sorry, I've been drawing my but off -- I also started a Return of Sgt. Rock page on Facebook, so if anyone's looking for new images and info, please check it out.
Thanks!
Billy

Kick Ass Billy. I cannot wait. Only question would be why is the helmet of Frank Rock different in Wm J. Killroy's image than from what he saw? I assume their is a purpose but just thought I'd ask.

Matt,
That's because it's a homage to Joe Kubert's Rock drawings. He always put the chevrons on his helmet -- I've never seen any WW2 NCO (well, I did see one Sergeant photographer do it) put their rank on the steel pot -- Korea, yes, but not WW2, so I wanted to give a nod to Joe. Later on in the story, Rock will write the chevrons on his helmet with a cray to lure a sniper. So I'll cover both the fans of traditional Sgt. Rock and WW2 purests.
