Victory Was Beyond Their Grasp

Doug Nash has done it again. This book is mostly about the 272nd Füsilier Kompanie, but in telling the story he naturally tells about the parent unit, the 272nd Volksgrenadier Division.

But, it's more than that. Drawing from an amazing store of recovered documents, Doug is able to tell about how the Landser felt in those final days of the war. More than that, he gives what looks to be the best class on the VGD phenomenon available!

There is a lot to be gleaned from this book, highly recommended for anyone interested in VGD, or the final days of the Wehrmacht.

This is a great book Tom, couldn't agree with you more. If you think you know all there is to know about VGD you need to get a hold of a copy of this book.
