Re: My Medal Collection

Imperial, I'm guessing they were originally introduced in the late 1800s, I'd have to check though. No more after 1918.

Re: My Medal Collection

Here is my 1897 Kaiser Wilhem medal also called the “Zentenarmedaille” or “Apfelorden.” Founded by Kaiser Wilhelm II on 22.3.1897 and given to all active duty troops, veterans of the unification wars, etc. in honor of the 100th birthday of his grandfather, Kaiser Wilhelm I. The medal, designed by Professor Walter Schott and produced at L. Ostermann, Berlin, was made of captured French cannons from the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. Private purchase examples are common as well.

Re: Imperial Awards

I get most of my awards off ebay US and ebay Germany, as they are not usually expensive or super rare items, there is no worries about them being fakes. I don't buy many Third Reich items, as the market is absolutely FLOODED with fakes, and when I do buy nazi gear, it's usually through some of the dealers I've had good business with in the past, although to be fair, you can still get plenty of good Third Reich gear from ebay, you just have to be wary that the more popular and/or rarer items could be fakes. There is not, and I'm not an expert by ANY means, a big market for faked Imperial items. I buy most of my US awards from two dealers.
