The "Blue Division" (División Azul) was the 250th Infanterie-Division.

The 250th ID was made up of Infanterie-Regiment 262, Infanterie-Regiment 263, and Infanterie-Regiment 269.

You can see the Spanish emblem on the helmet. I've seen that photo as being of the 269th Regiment. I don't know how to tell.
Neither do I, but it checked in three references as the 269th, twice by Paul Carell in two of his books. Was the photo you saw as 269th in a Carell book as well?

French volunteers of the Franzsische Freiwillige

Vestiages of the Franzsische Friwillige, the medal in the center was for bravery under fire
To this day French law prohibits the wearing or display of this medal in public

Re: Foreign Legions of the Third Reich

Information with this photo IDs it as members of Vlassov's "Russian Wehrmacht"
but I can't find a second reference to substantiate it

The man having his wound dressed is a volunteer out of the ranks of Soviet POWs
The arm band reads: "Working for the German Wehrmacht"

I'm guessing that it was the 269th Regiment (of the 250th ID), not the 269th ID. The Spanish unit was in fact the 250th ID.

Did your search for info on 'Nord' run through the BFC???

No, it was more of a "mutual acquaintance" type thing. Entirely happenstance. But, I can now say I've met a very unique individual from WWII!!

Re: Foreign Legions of the Third Reich

I'm sure the British were anxious to get him home and try him for treason. Do you know what happened in that regard?

The Wallons under Gen. Leon Degrelle made an excellent showing also.
