Great Pics guys. The discussion and captions are enlightening. I'm curious what the thoughts are out there about motovations. I know it will vary greatly by Unit, but were some markedly Anti-Soviet vs Pro-Facist? The line might be too subtle to discern, and I'm not looking for any lengthy answer, just some perceptions.

A lot of them were ardent anti-Communists.

Still, another Dutch SS vet I've talked to indicates that regular food, shelter, and clothing were also good motivators.

For a lot of young men in the era, plain adventure with pay were the basic inducement.

No sure answer to that question.
