That looks too rounded to be the bow. The pointy end is behind the photographer, but she's going slow. At higher speeds, there would be much more turbulence in the wake. Believe me, I've spent many hours pondering ships' prop wash!

I would say it is definatley a stern shot. Not anchor chains but mooring hawsers. Also, look at the way the wake curves away, That isn't caused by a bow wave.

Here's a definite bow shot. HMS Grenville after an argument with a torpedo in the North Sea. The bloke in the pic was the last man off.
