Re: Pow

A "GD" Soldier checks a Russian POW Immediately after his capture. The POW to the left looks to be breaking down and weeping.

A line of just captured Russians are quickly checked for weapons and papers by "GD" Troops during the Division's withdrawal from the Dneiper area

Re: Pow

This T-34 crew did not want to give up...

A StuG rams the front of a T-34 stopping the tank and pinning its gun in the down position
German troops are then forced to use a crow bar and axe to force open the hatch

With the hatch now open the Russian tanker is less than cooperative appearing to go "dead weight" on his captors

Obviously wounded but still with a defiant expression, the tanker finally allows himself to be hauled out

Re: Pow

Interesting sequence of photos. Two of the German soldiers have their heads wrapped, perhaps from injuries. One of the men on top, possibly an officer appears to have his pistol at the ready in case any of the T-34 crew decides to get nasty.
