The Brandenburgers
The Brandenburgers - Global Mission
By Franz Kurowski
This is one of the few informative books on the mysterious subject of the Brandenburg Commandos. Through descriptive and well researched and descriptive writing, the author Franz Kurowski covers their important developments, combat actions, such as the Abwehr, their overseas operations, and their combat actions as a Panzergrenadier Division in Panzerkorps 'Grossdeutschland' towards the end of the war. There is an excellent section on their combat actions in the Middle East, Iran and India, proving that OKW's 'Plan Orient' to capture the Middle East in a pincer movement was not far off. This book is likely to be the last word on the subject. There are quite a few photos of them, their opponents, their commanders and their Knight's Cross holders throughout the book. I would recommend it to anyone interested in special operations in WWII.
