Jim, just looking through these posters with my wife, she says your translations are pretty good on the whole! She has actually enjoyed looking throught them!

I once went to the big 'National Gallery' in the city to see the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition when it toured. Lautrec isn't really my thing but I like to check out everything...it's my duty because I'm an artist when I'm not a modeller. You never know what you might see and learn.
Bored as heck with the usual French stuff, I wandered off and found a series of small rooms I'd never seen in the gallery before. The 'National Gallery of Victoria' is pretty big and they have all the great shows...Picasso, Munch...you name 'em. In these small 'back rooms' was an exhibition of maybe 250 posters from 1950's Soviet Union. All Communist propaganda and like the posters shown in this thread...utterly fantastic. At the time, I couldn't afford the catalogue and I regret not having it as a reference. I usually buy the catalogue when I go to an exhibition. This is what got me started on Soviet propaganda art...I love it as a style. The Soviet aesthetic, whether propaganda poster, graffiti on a Yak 3 or a T-34 really floats my boat visually.
