Re: SASL (Solitaire ASL) Game Idea

This will be worth seeing from the sidelines. Any non players should follow the thread in the den as I will be so we can all get a good handle on what goes on.

Yes, the "Suspect" locations in the small map are the same that will be on the BIG map and this will be reflected once your forces enter the operations area. Chances are your leading forces will trigger some of these so try to keep everyone in covered terrain as they advance on to the map.

Yep, Both sides do. You should see both sides current sniper activity location in the attachment in this post: Enemy Activity

German is: 5
Russian is: 3

The higher the number, the higher chance of possible of sniper attacks.

Also, you do NOT have to move all units onto the map on the 1st turn IF you are worried about them being bunched up and vulnerable to any enemy units that may activate in that turn. Just leave those units out of the movement orders.

Another thing to know is that all units will started in a "Concealed" and depending on the terrain they move into they may retain that status into turn 1.

How do we get rid of the enemy "?" chits? Simply fire on them, or just move into their LOS?

You can fire on them (recon by fire) but mainly you "activate" them when you move within a certain distance from them depending on the terrain you are in. If you are in the open and moving they activate at greater range that if you are advancing on them from woods or other non-open terrain. When they are activated they are either revealed as dummy units and are removed or they become enemy actual enemy units and will most likely engage the unit that triggered them depending what kind of unit they are and if they have enough range to engage them. Russian units can activate as far as 8 hexes (320 meters) away, but again, it depends on the terrain the units are in too.
