Thumbs up My miniatures game

I have come up with some rules for a miniature game using the 1:144 armor figs I have been picking up from the Walmart toy department. I have been collecting these over the last few years and have used them with other rules that were always too confusing. (roll on this table to see where you roll on this table). I picked up the infantry figs yesterday at a hobby shop here in town (which surprised me greatly). I mounted the infantry on old telephone recharge cards that I cut into 1 inch squares. Then I mounted magnets on the bottom to give them weight and so that I can stick them to a metal tray. Here are the pics.

I apologize for the flower pattern of the tablecloth, but the vinyl is great for wiping up spills. The dark green felt represents woods. These units are a Brummbar artillery, Tiger, and PzIII.

Same units from the other side.

Here we have a couple of Shermans and a HMC M7 artillery unit perched behind the hill ridge with infantry nearby.

Interested? let me know.

The tank figures are made by 21st Century Toys. They come with a display case for about $2-$3 depending on where you get them. The Infantry figs are made by Game Figures Inc. 538 Olathe St Unit E, Aurora, Co 80011 (303) 361-6465. The bases of the armor minis say New Toys Millennium.

The tanks I have, got them at Wal-Mart also, just didn't realize anyone was making 1/144 scale troops though. I guess it's been awhile since I looked though.

I just walked into my local hobby store, where they have a good assortment of 1:144 tanks from Can Do and World Tank Museum and others, and looked up, and there they were. There were artillery figures there too. I will go back on Saturday and see what else they have in this scale. I am so impressed that a small town Missouri hobby shop would have them.

Re: My miniatures game

Have you ever tried Dragons 1/144 kits? I've got the Hetzer and Jagdpanzer, you get two different models per kit. Nice builds and very good accuracy. Those tiny parts are a bit fiddly though.

Question Re: My miniatures game

Do they make any American WW2 armor? I need more American armor. I only have 3 Shermans, 2 Hellcats, and 2 HMC M7's.

Re: My miniatures game

That would be a good scale from a space perspective 50th. Have you looked at FOW or Battlefront rules ? Both have eliminated a lot of the looking up tables rubbish that is so annoying at times.
