OK, clear as mud here...I looked up the Turn Sequence, and what I had missed was, "Each Game Turn...consists of two Player Turns, each consisting of eight Phases (RPh, PFPh, MPh, DFPh, AFPh, RtPh, APh, CCPh). I was thinking those eight phases WAS one Game turn. Dah!

So, do I take it the First Player Turn in the Germans/Italians, and the Second Player Turn is the Russians???

Where are we now...did we complete the end of the First Player Turn (German/Italian?)??

Ahhhh, you beat me to send! Thanks Pat! How does Defenders First Fire work in SASL?? I mean, we don't know where the Russians move until after it happens!

Reaction Fire (Russian Movement)

If Russian are in the open, wheat or road hex within Morter range, Spotter (leader) will engage using mortar
If Russians are in open , wheat or road hexes within 6 hexes Squad at P8 engages.
If Russians are within 2 hexes squad at O9 will engage.

Defensive Fire phase

Any squad that did not fire during Russian Movement phase will fire on AT gun at O6.
Leader will spot Morter on AT gun also.

Squad at O9 will use LMG when he fires.

You designate your targets for all your units during the Russian 1/2 of the turn. You can designate existing/known units or post "targets of opportunity". See Pat's orders in the previous post. He is setting criteria/conditions and priorities for when/what his men will fire on any time they can during the turn.

DF fire for Platoon HQ

Group 1

Priority is any in the open Russian units moving in a 10 hex radius, next any squads moving in cover (trees, orchards) as above, 3rd if none of the above, fire on the broken mortar squad with leader bonus.

Group 2

Priority as above until the 3rd option, go for the Rifle squad in in hex F-3 with any bonus that applies to other groups next to them.

Groups 3 and 4, same as above but 8 hex range, then use group fire with 2nd group to hit the F-3 rifle squad.

No, its not. The icon should show as dmMTR across the top and I have added (dm) to the end of the Mortar in the OOB listing. With the Mortar assembled you only have 2MF for that Squad.
