Playtest: Company B, Report HERE!! (Korocho ASL game) Pirate-Drakk

This thread is for B Company orders and discussion.

Since the starting conditions have changed (we now start on the map) my orders are also different.

HQ Platoon will start with all units in Z10 with both MGs ready to fire.
In Prep Fire phase they will shoot AA7 unit it is dead or the MG's run out of shots.

If this unit is NOT vaporized/destroyed/routed, the HQ unit will remain where it is during advance phase. If it is destroyed but the unit in DD6 is not, then the entire HQ stack will advance to Y10. If both enemy units are destroyed/routed/vaporized, the entire stack will advance to Z9.

3rd Platoon (Italians) will start in X10. They will then move one squad at a time (LMG last) to X9 and then X8. The will then move to Y8 in the Advance phase. The leader will remain in X10.

Objectives for 1st and 2nd Platoon remain the same. Hex R9 and hex DD8 respectively.

At this point I am just deploying the units to the Map. Then we will start Turn 1, so you Fire/Move orders would then go into effect. The deployment is PRE-Turn 1. ALL units are considered "Concealed" until they actually fire/Move in Turn 1, etc.

OK, to get things rolling, I will issue the orders for Platoons 1 and 2. Their commanders are free to change my orders if they wish.

Platoon 1 will start with all units in hex CC10. The three squads and their support weapons will "assault move" to hex CC9 and fire on AA7 in advancing fire with the 3 squad ONLY (not the LMG, it doesn't help and won't breakdown if not fired) if there is a unit or "?" there.

In advance phase 2 squads carrying the mortar and ATR will advance move to CC8. The squad with the LMG will advance to DD8. The 8-0 leader will advance to CC9.

Platoon 2 will all begin in hex S10. The 3 squads and their support weapons will "assault move" to hex S9. In advancing fire, the 3 squads will fire on hex R5 (not the LMG).

In advance phase, the 8-0 leader will move to R9. If the unit in R5 is broken or doesn't exist, advance a squad with the mortar and a squad with the ATR to hex R8 and the squad with the LMG to hex S8. If one or more squads in R5 are in good order, remain in hex S9 with the entire platoon.

1st PLT
17/CC10: 8-0, 467x3, LMG, 50mm MTR(dm), ATR

2nd PLT
17/S10: 8-0, 467x3, LMG, 50mm MTR(dm), ATR

3rd PLT
17/X10: 8-0, 347x3, LMG

ALL Units are currently considered "Concealed".

You do not have LOS from S9 to R5. Do you want them to advance anyway or stay put? IF they advance they will "possibly" activate units in R5 as they will then be in that hexes LOS (as well as several others)?

Do we get to keep the "?" counter after advance phase?
Just so you know I'm going off the VASL boards and built-in LOS tool so it may be slightly off using real boards. "?" counters are lost with movement.

Originally I envisioned starting where first platoon is, but since the battalion commander wanted me to cover HQ this is fine with me.

Drakk and I will have to flesh out what my responsibilities are with respect to this.

The HQ Platoon needs infantry support but it is fairly powerful with the long range fire power of the MMG and HMG. Unfortunately, the close terrain negates a large part of that advantage. The Italians have lower moral and less long range weaponry then the German regulars. That lets the HQ provide the long range for the Italians, as well as rally ability, plus the HQ gets close support from the Italians. The other German platoons provide a strong right flank and help support the middle where our left flank joins A Company, which is critical. It's a better balance this way. "Remember Stalingrad where the minor countries covered the flanks?" We won't be having those problems...
