I have read that the Germans gave the Finns a couple of T34 and 1x KV tank.

I've read that it was suposed to be seven or nine T-34's that Germany should give to Finland but that only three of 'em was given to Finland in the end. I don't know 'bout the KV-1 though.

The Finnish T-34's that they put to use against their former owners did all survive the war as none were lost in combat.

I always wondered why a column like that never just ran and dispersed. I don't see that many guards escorting and that column is huge.

Check through the thread Dan, there are a lot like that. My guess is this was early in the war when many of them preferred capture by the Germans than rule by Stalin.

Sad that it turned out the way it did for them.

Being as they were captured in the first place (gave up) No weapons etc. where could they really go? Get shot or captured again.

Looks a little big to be a fighter pilot. Bomber perhaps? I know the other is a bit younger,but still....

Arnhem 44. The caption (by a Brit) stated how well the Germans took care of POW's.
