Great pics Paul. It really brings to fore the adage about the 3 stages of the War in the East. Dust, mud, ice. The heavy use of animals for transportation is also interesting.

Good point, Hal. It was the mud and ice that resulted in the Eastern Front seeing the most use of horses to move supplies and wounded. It would be interesting it be able to locate the number of these animals actually used there.
