Re: The Fallen

The pictures is great in that the really show how bad it is n' makes you think. I've personally been numbed over the years so I don't react as I should to the more graphic ones n' that's bad in my mind.

Regarding politicians I'd say that Geek is spot on in his conclusion.

Just remember this 'bout politicians: Poly = Lie n' Tics = Bloodsucking insect.

In short, we desperatly need more kittens...

Re: The Fallen

I thought I was numb to it as well, Urban. But when you re-size a hundred of these photos at a sitting looking at the faces of the dead and soon to be, the enormity of it all is just overwhelming.

More kittens would be a good thing.

Re: The Fallen

We need more statesmen.

The politicians, we can put on the front lines, so they can see for themselves the suffering they've caused.

If the "leaders" were actually required to lead men into battle, there would be damn few wars to fight.

Re: The Fallen

I feel I'm desensitized as well. There's not much that can shock me. But it's still possible. These pics are nothing to me. That's not to say I don't sympathise or understand that these were once living, feeling people...I'm not a psychopath, but the Buddhists teach that death is part of life...I kinda get that. I respected my mother, after she died I went to sit with her body and have a last talk with her. When I left the hospital, I cried on the kerb for five minutes in front of the whole world...then never looked back. Just me I s'pose.

Re: The Fallen

I thought the same thing at first, then I looked very closely at the photo and I think that's a grass stalk across his wrist.
