Re: Allied General

I don't know, I've always wanted Allied General! If I could find a copy of AG around here, I might turn lose of PZ. I'm tired of always playing the Germans! I play the Germans because I use a gameshark that has an unlimited prestige for the Germans only. You can't buy more units than the game allows, but you can buy any unit of that time peroid that the game allows. There is a similar cheat for the AG game, for the allies.

Talking Re: Allied General

Yeah, I've got a scenario of Sealion that I've been working on. It's a long one. It's the scenario where Germany attacks England, they have jets and everything, Great Fun!

Smile Re: Allied General

I finally beat Kharkov with a major win, so no Stalingrad and I went straight to Dnepper. Now if I win that one I go to Minsk. If not then on to Ploesti, I think I will both winand lose in this one and check out the maps, upgrades, terrain and fun factor for each!!

Cheers, I got something "done" on my holiday off at least here!! LOL

Re: Allied General

I have both Panzer General & Allied General for the first PS1. I still break them out and play them from time to time although i havent played them lately.

I could never win as the Russians in Allied General. Then again, i didnt have Game Shark Codes either, LOL.

Does anyone know if they ever made Pacific General for the PS1?

Wink Re: Allied General

That Moscow battle I bet, that is where I got killed to for the longest time!!!

OK, here it goes, when you FIRST get to deploy your units in that battle, is there only a couple of places to deploy them? Like in Moscow and in the upper middle-right of that last city you have to defend....

Step 1 is to not deploy all your forces PRE-FIRST TURN!! You will lose a turn for the units you don't deploy, but you can then deploy then AT THE START OF TURN 1 on any Russian held city!!!

Now this is before step 1 depending on what you get for pre-deployment positions when you first get the the Moscow battle.

IF you just turned on the PS 1 and just started after loading up a saved game. LRT IT RUn for an hour or two with the intro pics playing!! THEN start your saved game, 6 out of 10 times you will get more deployment areas.

You will have to look over to the LEFT MID SIDE for that one German held city, one of your objectives. You should see about 6-8 single spaces where you can now deploy some of your units, like within a hex or two of the city.

deploy some tanks and at least 1 arty and AA gun there, and don't worry about the close german units to the right of you, they will mostly head to the Moscow objective. Next, pound on the NON_objective city and capture it, then buy some new units and race down to the other two German city objectives, with some tanks and arty units and capture them, the moment you do that the game win automatically cut to a major win for you, with one exception.

The exception is that you have to defend ALL of your original Russian 'Highlighted" cities from the rush of German units that will come to them while taking the 3 German city objectives. I can go back, look and name them for you if that would be helpfull as well.

The one that will be the most problem is the central one down at the bottom, many tanks and infrantry will assault it!! The trick here is to put an arty unit in the city, a good core tank right before the river/bridge and use some basic tanks and generic infrantry to circle the city with another generic arty piece in the outer ring.

I have no idea if this is a bug, or just the computer noticing that you have been "playing" a long time, so it sets up different deployment areas, my bet is the later because it does almost the same hexes every time after you "run it" for a while, BUT NOT FIRST STARTING OUT is key here.

The next couple battles after Moscow are not as hard, almost, but more winable and the same "rule" applies there sometimes to......... And you will have a ton of points to play with then to, and some upgrades as well.

Let me know if you got what I said here buddy, I'm not the best at explaining myself sometimes.........

Cheers, lets beat this friggin Russian campaign my friend!!!
