Billy, I just didn't feel like typing out Trigger-Time!! LOL!!

If you're going to be drawing paras, Mark's site is probably one of the best places to visit. Lots of images of uniforms and gear.

Billy,

T T is a reference to Trigger Time. See the link above.

Tom,

You've been to Marks' basement? I am VERY jealous.

Where does Mark live? I'd love to contact him. His work is incredible. Is he approachable?

I actually spoke with F/Sgt. Wolf about taking the airborne refresher course and joining the WW2 Airborne Demonstration Team. I hope to attend it next January!

Mark lives in Detroit. He is a retired Detroit cop. Visit his forum, join up and make yourself known.

I'll be in Novi -- (I believe it's the Double Tree hotel). There's a convention "The Motor City Comic Con." Let's get together one night for a drink or something. I think my wife will be coming along as well as she's got some crazy cousins in Grosse Pointe. They come out and we all have a blast.

Re: 101st A/B -- Which unit sported war paint in Normandy?

As to the images:

I can't figure out who it is in the original photo. I will check in the book this weekend.

Here is another one:
http://www.6juin1944.com/album/airborne/airborne_20.jpg
you got to click because the webmaster doesn't like the picture posted else where. It is Mariano S. Ferra - 326th AEB and Jake McNiece - 506th PIR. Members of the "Filthy Thirteen" were members of one of the two Demolition sections in the 506th (the one attached to 3rd Battalion). The other troopers with the Mohawks and paint were the Engineers also attached to 3rd Battalion.

Another:
D-Day - Normandie 1944 : Men of D-Day

Here is a video link of them preparing for the jump:
82nd Airborne PARATROOPERS Don Mohawks, Apply FACEPAINT Before D-Day
It is miss-labeled as 82nd Airborne but it is actually the Filthy 13. Only the first half is Them...the second half is in Italy.

The blacking on other paratroopers faces is actually Charcoal or Grease Paint.

Read the book "The Filthy Thirteen: From the Dustbowl to Hitler's Eagle's Nest :The True Story of the101st Airborne's Most Legendary Squad of Combat Paratroopers"
