Re: 6th Guard Russian Tank Corps vs 501st Independant Heavy German Tank Battalion
from memory and if im correct the russian vehicles were all knocked out by two tiger 2 tanks and some other german armour (but dont quote me) by a river the russian column had stopped and was open to attack and in a very weak position due to the in experince of the russian commander. one of the tiger 2 tanks was from memory was operated by karl turk and the other by willi fey before they were reassigned to s SS pz abt 503. hm not sure if im right i might be thinking of another engagement sorry if i am wrong

Re: 6th Guard Russian Tank Corps vs 501st Independant Heavy German Tank Battalion
i have a feeling it was. from records it was actually tigers of 502 battalion ( they were initially the command tigers of 501 battalion) that were engaged in the combat scene 501 battalion was in the area but not at operational strength and all tigers had the henschell turret. there were 8 destoyed king tigers and 3 captured when they became bogged down. one of the captured vehicle was a command vehicle number 502 (originally 002 of 501) and was fully operational the other vehicles were 102 and 234. vehicle 234 was used as parts to keep the other two vehicles going 102 was used for gunnery and armour testing and 502 is the vehicle in the kubinka tank museum. heres some pictures for you guys
heres 502 ![]() heres 234 ![]() heres 102
