Re: Char b1 bis

I would build the French version...for something different. I've seen the tracks provided and they look great. At $50 Aussie a set, Friuls are for special projects only...that's the same price as the kit!
Peace.

Re: Char b1 bis

Who doesn't?!
I have maybe four sets in my stash. Tiger 1, Panther, Panzer III/IV and of course...Elefant. In total, that's about $200 Aussie worth of tracks. Very expensive. I've only tried individual plastic links twice before with varying results. For me, a bad connection or a ripple in the tracks can really spoil the look of a vehicle. No such problems with Friul tracks. Easy to use and they look great. Also, very easy to paint and weather.
Peace.

Re: Char b1 bis

In 2006, I came into some money and was able to spend a little on my hobby. I decided I would try some of the things I'd only read about before. The Friuls on the Panzer IV are my first try with them. They won't be my last.

Re: Char b1 bis

ok, here I am again.

First, sorry for the delay...it was a very bad week.

ok, letīs go:

ALL COLOURS FROM TAMIYA

Pre-shading (NATO BROWN) and base (45% DARK YELLOW + 35% DESERT YELLOW + 20% WHITE) coat finished:

ok. 2nd base, 75% XF-67 + 25% XF-14, AFTER MASK THE FIRST BASE (YELLOW)

Now itīs time to give lights to the green colour, like this: XF-67 50% + XF-14 50%.

Re: Char b1 bis

the rest of the pictures about the lights:

Now, a coat of Future gloss barnish, and with some help of Micro-Set and Micro-Sol, we can apply the stencils:

...as you can see the stencils are still wet, and tomorrow iīll apply a matt barnish coat (Windsor & Newton) to protect the whole kit from the hard weathering (oils, pastels, filters..etc), that iīll done on it.

next step..the tracks ( ...till now only fixed for the pictures, and not painted yet) and then...The Weathering!!! (time for fun)

Thanks for looking friends.
