Re: Opel Blitz / flak38 - A Work in Progress

Got the rest of the Opel together today and even got a pretty start on the final finish. Still needs at least one 'wash' and one or two more dry-brushings but you get the general idea from these shots.

I've still got about a bazillion pieces of that 20mm gun to assemble and still gotta settle on a unit among other things... what do you guys think 15th panzer div. or 21st panzer div.? Anybody got a favorite? I got 35 years worth of decals and I feel confident that I can come up with the appropriate divisional insignia upon request. Heck give me an Infantry unit in Afrika for that matter...what do you guys suggest?

Help me out here,
razorboy

That look fantastic RB! Since Klaus had a loved in the DAK, why not let him pick the unit?

Re: Opel Blitz / flak38 - A Work in Progress - Phase 3

G'day Fellas,
Got a little more done on the Blitz today. Guess I'm going to have to start on the gun tomorrow..can't put it off any longer, done with pretty much everything else at this point. Decals still need to be weathered, went with the 15th Pz.Div. markings. Still got some fine tuning to do on the weathering but I think it's headed in the right direction.

razorboy - sorry but I like to moon people, always did

Re: Opel Blitz / flak38 - A Work in Progress

Here's the pics from today's work. That 20mm Dragon gun is sure taking it's toll on my nerves! Too many damned parts! Brass and styrene together still freaks me out...too much Old School in me I guess!

This is where I got my idea for mounting brackets - mounting the gun to the bed. Reenactors group - so I'm sure it's accurate!
