Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk.V

Here is my Spitfire at various stages of construction:

Painted pilot and internal parts while still attatched to spues.

Pilot and seat assembled and touched up paint.

Painted inside cockpit and added internal parts

Joined fuselage halves and wings halves.

Base painting of camo scheme.

Painting finished.

A bit of over-spray on the pilot. - touched up afterwards.

Decals applied.

(Exhaust manifolds and other asstd parts added later.)

Cheers,
Dave

Outstanding job Dave,
Man I wish I could build plane models like that! I can always throw a little mud on the mistakes I make on AFVs to hide 'em - but nobody likes a muddy airplane! I'd better stick to Armour.

Great job Dave, let's see some more.

Yeah thats why i always liked armor as well, you can hide your mistakes with
mud and dirt

A very nice job on that Spit for sure.

Finished Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk.V

Here it is all finished.

It is part of a diorama that includes a Hurricane, RAF personnel and equipment. (And a dog.)

I removed the original background and added new ones to these Pictures of the Spitfire.

(This one is my personal favorite, over the Dover coastline with a BF109 on its tail.)

Cheers,
Dave

ICM's 1/48 RAF personnel.

Tamiya and ICM are combining some of their 1/48 kits now too.

The Citroen is Tamiya and the figures are ICM, all are in the same kit.

Dave

Re: Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk.V

It's truly amazing how much detail they're putting into 1/48th scale "stuff" nowadays, very impressive indeed for something that small.

Thanks

I suppose it is.

Even in the war movies that featured the RAF like "The Dam Busters" and "Battle of Britain", they all had dogs as mascots for the british pilots.

Dave
